Inspired as a young man by the story of Father Emil Kapaun, Father Wayne Schmid answered the call to both the priesthood and military chaplaincy. After decades of military service, he was assigned to minister in the very diocese Father Kapaun once served. Under Father Wayne’s leadership, his Knights of Columbus council found guidance and encouragement to deepen its service. With his vision and the support of the Knights, the growing parish also moved to a larger campus, ensuring it can remain a vibrant center of faith and outreach for years to come.
